We have reported on this numerous times in the past, but without a definitive focal range in speed. The latest is that it will be an RF 300-600mm f/5.6L IS USM. This would be a pretty great lens if the cost is well below 5 figures. For now, we don't know for sure what it will be, but a very solid source says it will be announced in September of this year. It may not come the same day as the camera announcements that are expected, most notable the EOS R8 Mark II and new PowerShot. We are tired of talking about this lens, but my confidence level is higher than it has ever been that we're going to finally see it. Again, we cannot confirm what the focal range, aperture or price is going to be, but we have been promised that we'll find out in the near future. We haven't had any sort of update on new RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM and RF 600mm f/4L IS USM lenses with built-in teleconverters. While these would be most welcomed, they aren't exactly volume sellers and a zoom lens that costs significantly less will sell in droves. We can also expect at least two other lenses coming in September, or at least by the end of Q4 of this year. One of them will probably be an RF 24-70 f/2L with either a VCM or USM focus motor. We really hope to be able to say more about that lens in the near future.
