România și Polonia obligate să plătească vaccinurile anti-Covid comandate la Pfizer

România și Polonia ar putea fi nevoite să achite sume semnificative pentru vaccinurile anti-Covid comandate de la Pfizer, dar pe care refuză să le mai preia, invocând încheierea pandemiei. Conform unei decizii a unui tribunal belgian, România ar trebui să plătească 600 de milioane de euro, iar Polonia 1,3 miliarde de euro, transmite France Presse.

Tribunalul a stabilit că cele două țări nu au reușit să demonstreze că Pfizer a abuzat de drepturile sale contractuale. Decizia este una provizorie și poate fi contestată, ceea ce înseamnă că mersul procesului va continua.

Amintim că aceste contracte de achiziție au fost negociate de Comisia Europeană în numele statelor membre, iar atât România, cât și Polonia au optat să nu mai recepționeze doze pe care le considerau inutile, în condițiile în care pandemia părea să se încheie, având deja stocuri rămase.

Refuzul de a prelua vaccinurile poate provoca tensiuni între statele europene și gigantul farmaceutic, având în vedere sumele colosale implicate. Autoritățile din ambele țări sunt acum în scrutin legal pentru a decide asupra pașilor următori, în timp ce opinia publică așteaptă clarificări.
