Numarul cazurilor de Alzheimer aproape s-a dublat în România

Numărul cazurilor de Alzheimer a crescut semnificativ în România, fiind aproape dublat în ultimul deceniu, conform datelor publicate ieri de Institutul Național de Sănătate Publică. Informațiile au fost făcute publice cu ocazia Zilei mondiale de luptă împotriva acestei boli.

Statisticile arată că anul trecut, medicii de familie au raportat mai mult de 10.000 de cazuri noi de Alzheimer, cu un număr mai mare de femei afectate comparativ cu bărbații. Boala Alzheimer este recunoscută ca fiind cea mai comună formă de demență la nivel global, afectând peste 55 de milioane de oameni care se confruntă cu probleme severe de memorie, declin cognitiv și, în cele din urmă, pierderea capacității de a trăi independent.
