Person caught in the act of bribery by the officers of the Directorate General for Anti-Corruption - Mures County Anti-Corruption Service. An individual was caught in the act by police officers from the Directorate General for Anti-Corruption - Mures County Anti-Corruption Service while trying to bribe a police officer from the Criminal Investigations Department.
The police officer had notified the Mures County Anti-Corruption Service through a complaint that a suspect in a criminal case had offered to give them improper benefits in exchange for proposing a solution to the prosecutor that would exempt them from any legal liability for their previous actions.
After the complaint was recorded, the police officer reported that during a procedural activity, the briber had handed them 1,400 lei. Yesterday, the individual contacted the police officer again, offering an additional 300 euros in an attempt to persuade them not to fulfill their legal duties. As a result, the crime of bribery was observed.
The case prosecutor ordered the 24-hour detention of the briber. They are being investigated for the crime of bribery, and today they will be presented to the Mures County Tribunal with a request for pre-trial detention.
